Man, I have clinical insomnia and definitely feel your pain. First of all, do NOT start popping pills to fall asleep. Been there, done that - it got to the point where if I DIDN'T pop a xanax I wouldn't be able to sleep at all. There are two effective methods I can recommend that have helped me pesonally: 1) Yes, it sounds cheese, but rather than "clearing your mind" or "just try to relax" think of a dark, dark space. As if you're in a dark void, and all you can see is one color - black. That usually works. 2) My favorite (I thought this wall bull until I started trying it) - drink a warm cup of milk! Literally pour some milk into a glass and nuke it in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. An old Mexican woman told me to try it and for the longest time I never did, but now I swear it's like magic. Good luck!

Try putting an oscillating fan in your bedroom and turning it on when you go to bed; I can't sleep without the white noise. Sleep masks can do WONDERS if it's daytime, lights are on, etc.

Cherry juice, because it increases the level of melatonin in the body.Take a glass of juice (30 ml of pure juice should be diluted with mineral water) before going to bed reduces the time of about 17 minutes falling asleep and extends sleep by more than half an hour. The cherry blossom also makes sleep is deeper, more effective and brings true rest to the body. In addition, you must also remember not to go to sleep with a full stomach. A light supper should be eaten 2-3 hours earlier, preferably rich in carbohydrates (pasta, bananas), because they have a calming effect and make it easier to fall asleep. However, our body will produce the most melatonin when at bedtime, we will eat some raspberries. One gram of these fruits will allow for the production of 387 nanograms of melatonin, that is quite a lot. And in this case, the perpetrator of the whole confusion is serotonin and tryptophan. To sleep soundly and firmly, it is also worth introducing other soft fruits into your diet. Strawberries, blackberries, gooseberries or currants are excellent catalysts for melatonin production. Dreams also work almonds and sunflower seeds. A few almonds eaten two hours before going to bed is enough. Almonds and nuts are a good source not only of tryptophan but also of magnesium and vitamins that will relax and relax tense muscles. In addition, they contain potassium, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, calcium and iron - that is all that allows us to calmly recover after a hard day. It is also worth remembering the basic dietary principles. At bedtime, we never eat heavy meals. It is best to eat the last meal two hours before bedtime. Dinner should be light - for example, dark bread, light meats or fish and necessarily vegetables - preferably leafy. If we manage to introduce these few changes in the way of nutrition and include products that stimulate the body to produce melatonin into the diet, sleep problems should disappear.

i suffer from both insomnia and narcolepsy so I know a thing or 2 about sleep. 90% of my days are spent on the narcolepsy side, while 10% are spent with insomnia. insomnia spells will come out of no where and last 3-14 days. First off laying in bed with your eyes shut when you have insomnia is not only always a failure but its a real waste of time lol. Dont ever lay their hoping you will fall asleep eventually. get up, eat a nice solid heavy snack like peanut butter on some bread. Then lay down somewhere that you can read and can sleep. you will obviously need light but not too bright, just a reading lamp or something similar. you need to read a real book unfortunatly because reading from an electronic device will promote wakeness just like watching tv. But if you fill your stomach with heavy food to digest and start reading a book/magazine/etc. you will not only promote slepiness by using mental energy to read but you will also prevent yourself from thinking about a bunch of random stuff that can keep you awake.

Stop trading and don't dream about your cryptocurrencies going high or at the bottom. It is hard to not think about cryptos when we have bought some. Trading make us not sleep well. Don't drink coffee and tea. Try to not think too much about what happened at work and what is going to happen the next day. Watch a movie before sleeping. But look at something that will not make you use your brain like an action movie or a romantic comedy.

Try this: - supportive pillow - darken the room with light reducing window treatments - no caffine 2-4 hours before bed Then once your settled in and comfortable let your mind relax and concintrate on parts of you body startig at your toes on each leg. imaging them going to sleep, then move up to your shin and image them going to sleep. Repet imagining each part of your body going to sleep..knees, thighs, hips, stomache, chest, fingers, forarm, upper arm, shoulders, neck, ears...... the more you do the more relaxed you will become! Give it a try, sounds goofy at first but it really works for me!

- Install f.lux on your computer and phone, will automatically reduce blue light depending on the time of day, which stops technology from disrupting your circadian rhythm. - If you snore and feel sluggish throughout the day regardless of caffeine, get a sleep study done because you might have sleep apnea - one of the world's most undiagnosed sleep problems. - Try sleeping with either white noise or a fan, will help drown out outside noises. - If your neck ever hurts when you wake up, you need to find another pillow. A firm memory foam pillow will support your neck properly throughout the night. - Taking a melatonin supplement or drinking teas for nighttime have been shown to increase tiredness. - Sit down with a book in a quiet room at night, you'll start yawning in no time. - Get dimmable LED lights for your room to avoid harsh light. - Get an automatic LED light for your bathroom to avoid turning on the bright bathroom lights in the middle of the night, you'll fall back to sleep immediately. - If you're laying down and can't sleep, think of nothingness. Don't let anything enter your mind, just try and think of what "nothing" looks like.

As someone having alot of problem sleeping myself I gathered a few things over the years... Here are the ones that actually help: Try to do some sport/physical activity during the day and preferably in the morning. Try not to watch a screen for at least 30 mins before you go to bed. Reading a few pages of a book is a good way to do so. Try to keep your room cold or at least colder than the rest of the house. Finally when you're in bed, try to relax breathing. That actually helps alot but you need to do it properly which means focusing on it (and not thiking about something else while doing it, focus on your body/muscles). -Inhale fully trhough the nose. -Wait a few seconds. -Exhale fully through the nose, slowly. -Wait a few seconds. -Start again. And everytime you exhale try to focus some part of your body (I start with my feet and work my way up) and you should feel them relax. Keep doing so until you actually fall into sleep. Last tip: have a baby that cry all night long, everynight. You'll be so tired you'll sleep pretty much anywhere, anytime. 100%
